Join your local Red Cross on Saturday, August 12, 2017, for Camp Prepare! If you became stranded and unable to get to food, water or other supplies because of the influx of people in Oregon during the eclipse, could you live on only the contents of your disaster preparedness kit? What if you couldn’t access the necessities after a 9.0 Cascadia earthquake or other disaster? Without the comforts of electricity, running water or technology, this event is designed for Oregonians and Washingtonians to test their level of preparedness in a fun, safe setting. This year, Camp Prepare will be held the weekend before the eclipse and will serve as an important reminder of the need to be prepared prior to this celestial event. We at the Red Cross want everyone to be prepared for disasters big and small! Test your preparedness kit and your readiness by camping out in your own backyard or at a campsite on the night of Saturday, August 12, for Camp Prepare!
